Overview
Windsurf is an AI code editor built around an agent (Cascade, succeeded by Devin Local) that writes, fixes and reasons about code across a codebase, plus Tab autocomplete. It can preview and deploy apps from the editor and connects to tools such as GitHub, Figma, Slack and Stripe through MCP. Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, keeping the same plans and pricing. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
